“We are finding new ways for CT’s cherished race tradition to benefit participants, charity causes, and the local economy. Step One celebrations kick everything off and our RUNetwork experience gives participants and the community an interactive opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired leading up to their race weekend,” said Beth Shluger, CEO of the Hartford Marathon Foundation and Race Director of the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. “We remain committed to making this experience unique and meaningful for the unprecedented times we’re in and truly appreciate the continued support from participants, volunteers, and sponsors.”

“While the Eversource Hartford Marathon will be different this year, the spirit and energy this signature event brings to the region can’t be diminished – even by a global pandemic,” said Eversource Chairman, CEO, and President Jim Judge. “We applaud HMF for its creative approach to continue the great tradition of the marathon and all of its races in a virtual way – we couldn’t be more proud to be the title sponsor of this magnificent event and help support the charities that benefit from it.”

Through the financial support of sponsor partners led by Eversource, all race participants will still receive a finisher medal and technical shirt to commemorate their race. Competitive runners and those looking for some extra motivation can select one of three multi-distance challenges in the Sam Adams Challenge Series. Participants who opt to add a challenge ($10 fee) will receive a special custom finisher medal for the challenge.
