I am pleased to announce Kate Baumann as the Alliance’s new Chief Investor Relations Officer, effective immediately. Kate will report to me and her first day in the office will be Monday, October 28. Some of you may have already met Kate, and we are thrilled to have her as part of the Alliance team.
In this role, Kate is responsible for leading the Investor Relations team on recruitment of new investors at all levels while building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective investors. She will also lead investor retention efforts, identify opportunities for Alliance investors to network and build relationships with each other, and represent the Alliance at investor-hosted functions and events. In addition, Kate will conduct business visitation appointments to determine how the MetroHartford Alliance can leverage business expansion efforts in support of improving regional Economic Development.
Kate has extensive sales and relationship management experience in various industries, most recently as Digital Sales Director and Marketing & Sales Manager at WTNH News 8, where she led the sales and production teams to produce unique and engaging content to spotlight local, regional and national businesses, and non-profit organizations. Prior to that, Kate worked as Marketing & Sponsorship Manager for the New Britain Rock Cats and Account Executive at iHeart Media.
As a native of Berlin and current resident of Cromwell, Kate takes a personal interest in the economic growth and success of the Harford Region and her passion fits this role perfectly. She is also a graduate of Springfield College where she played collegiate basketball.
As you know, Julie Daly Meehan previously served in this role. Upon her return from maternity leave, Julie will be moving into the role of Chief Operating Officer where she will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Alliance as well as our adherence to our new governance. In this new role, Julie will maintain direct contact with our Leadership and Executive Level Investors as well as our Board of Directors.
Please join me in congratulating Julie on her new role and welcoming Kate to the Alliance!
Warm Regards,
David Griggs, CEcD, EDFP
