Museum Educator Allie Kyff and Dr. Benjamin Foster Jr., an Educational Consultant and Distinguished Practitioner of public school administration and human services management, will talk about the ongoing challenges of incorporating the histories of all Americans in the country’s educational system.They will also discuss the ongoing challenges of incorporating the histories of all Americans in the country’s educational system and the most effective ways to educate students about the African American experience. What will history classes look like in the future? Are we truly moving away from whitewashed history in our school system?
As part of the program, Dr. Foster will discuss his forthcoming book, In Spite of It: Notable African American Achievers, Then and Now, a compilation of biographies of significant contributors to American and world civilization. Discover the stories of individuals who made an impact on society.
