Manchester, CT – Civil and environmental engineering firm Fuss & O’Neill has named its first Executive Vice President of Operations, John Chambers, PG, LSP. John has been with the company for more than 20 years, holding positions including Community Development Practice Team Leader, Environmental Practice Team Leader, and, most recently, Central Region Manager.

The role of Executive Vice President of Operations was created in response to the firm’s growth in recent years. Acquisitions and diversity of services have progressed to create a company of more than 330 employees throughout all six New England states and California. In his new role, John will improve coordination and cohesion among regions, create opportunities for internal career advancement, and lead acquisitive growth initiatives. John welcomes this new challenge, noting: “The thing I’ve always liked most about my job is working with people. This new position allows me to work with even more of our employees and clients and create positive change. I’m excited to listen to new perspectives and to implement strategies to make us a more streamlined, efficient, and productive firm.”

The position of Executive Vice President of Operations reports directly to the CEO, Kevin Grigg, PE. Kevin is looking forward to John’s expanding role, stating: “John knows this company. He knows our philosophy, he knows our people, and he knows our objectives. This institutional knowledge, coupled with John’s drive for continuous improvement, make him the ideal candidate for this new position.”

John’s 30+ years of experience centered on community redevelopment because of its vital impact on the social, aesthetic, and economic value of communities. John holds a BS in Geology from Tufts University and an MS in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. He is a registered Professional Geologist in New Hampshire and a Licensed Site Professional in Massachusetts.

 

Fuss & O’Neill has also named its first Executive Vice President of Business Development, Kevin Johnson, PE, PTOE. Kevin joined the firm last year, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure engineering serving federal, state, municipal, and private clients.

The role of Executive Vice President of Business Development was created in response to the firm’s rapid growth in recent years. Acquisitions and diversity of services have progressed to create a company of more than 330 employees throughout all six New England states and California. In his new role, Kevin will ensure collaboration and consistency across the firm’s business lines
(Buildings and Hazardous Materials, Community Development, Environmental and Facility Services, Transportation and Water/Natural Resources). He will lead strategic planning and will be responsible for company-wide growth initiatives. Kevin is most excited about working with clients, noting: “I intend to meet regularly with clients to ensure that Fuss & O’Neill is aligned with their needs and that we are exceeding their expectations for client service.”

The position of Executive Vice President of Development reports directly to the CEO, Kevin Grigg, PE. Mr. Grigg states that: “Kevin [ Johnson] brings a powerful combination of experience and ingenuity to this role. He is constantly bringing fresh ideas to our management approach, which will help us, as a firm, grow and stay relevant. Kevin is highly respected by both his clients and
his fellow employees. This new position is a great fit for him and for us as a firm.”

Kevin is a veteran of the transportation industry, having managed a wide range of projects for municipalities and Departments of Transportation throughout New England. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He is a professional engineer in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts and is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.

 

 

Timothy St. Germain, PE has been promoted to Business Line Leader of Fuss & O’Neill’s Environmental and Facility Services Business Line. A Senior Vice President and shareholder of the company, Tim will oversee the Compliance, Industrial Plant, Facility, and Remediation Practices, which serve hundreds of industrial, manufacturing, municipal, educational,
site development, and architectural clients.

Fuss & O’Neill’s Chief Executive Officer Kevin Grigg, PE explains why he is excited to see Tim in this new role: “Tim is one of our most experienced and successful thought leaders. His technical knowledge and project management skills are exemplary and are recognized as such by our industrial and utility clientele, and his willingness to step up into this position during the current economic crisis will help make Fuss & O’Neill an even stronger firm than we were prior to the onset of the pandemic.”

A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Tim has more than 26 years of experience in facilities and industrial engineering practices. Tim has overseen major brownfields investigation, cleanup, and re-purposing projects; he has helped countless private companies ensure environmental compliance; he has designed industrial wastewater treatment systems; and he has helped communities improve their water supply systems. In his new role, Tim will identify new markets, develop strategic partnerships, analyze and implement growth opportunities, and promote the company’s health and safety culture.

Tim is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, North Carolina, and Kansas.
