Greg Toczydlowski, Executive Vice President and President of Business Insurance at Travelers, has been named Honorary Chair of the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s 2021 Equal Opportunity Day (EOD) Celebration. Travelers is the title sponsor for the 57th annual signature fundraising event, which will be held on Dec. 2, 2021, with the theme, A Season of Hope: Reflect. Restore. Renew.

“Greg Toczydlowski is a dynamic corporate leader and a champion of the mission and work of our organization,” explained David Hopkins, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Hartford, whose programs and operations impact more than 3,000 individuals and their families every year in the areas of youth development, adult education, workforce development, economic enrichment, community health, and social justice. “We are extremely honored to have Greg leading our efforts to generate awareness and funds for this impactful, high-profile event where the Urban League will showcase the accomplishments of local leaders for their outstanding commitment and leadership.”

Since joining Travelers in 1990, Greg has held various positions, including responsibilities within systems, finance, underwriting, product, marketing and business development. Deeply committed to serving the communities in which he lives and works, Greg serves as a director on a number of local non-profit boards and has been instrumental in leading Travelers’ annual employee giving campaign.

“The Urban League’s mission to reduce economic disparities in our communities through programs, services and educational opportunities continues to be a cornerstone of hope for empowerment and equity,” said Greg Toczydlowski. “I’m honored to chair this year’s 2021 Equal Opportunity Day Celebration and proud to represent Travelers. While this event is a critical fundraiser for the Urban League, it is also an important reminder that progress is only possible when we have broad community support, so I encourage individuals and businesses to join us in this important work.”

About the event: Similar to last year, this event will be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions. In 2020, Thomas Barnes, Chairman of Barnes Group, Inc. served as Honorary Chair of the event, and the event featured national media personalities. Plans are underway for an equally compelling 2021 program.
