Stanley Black and Decker has been based in Connecticut since its inception in 1843, and now its new state-of-the-art 23,000 square foot “Manufactory 4.0” is based in downtown Hartford.

It’s also home to STANLEY+Techstars additive manufacturing accelerator program, which attracts top advanced manufacturing startups to the Hartford Region.

Otis Elevator Company

Otis Elevator Company is the world’s largest manufacturer of vertical transportation systems, which includes elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. The vertical transportation systems industry was created due to Otis Elevator Company’s invention of the world’s first safety elevator over 160 years ago. Its headquarters are based in Farmington, CT within the Hartford Region.

Otis Elevator Company recently won a large contract for Foxconn’s new factory in Wisconsin. Foxconn is the world’s largest electronics manufacturing group and produces the world’s most popular products including Apple devices and gaming consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation.
