Public Policy
With a diverse membership drawn from the business, civic and municipal sectors, the MetroHartford Alliance is uniquely poised to bring the voice of the Region to policy makers at all levels of government – local, state and federal. On issues ranging from transportation to energy, taxes to health care, workforce development to workers’ compensation, the Alliance with its Government Relations Committee, has successfully shaped public policies to ensure that businesses within the metro Hartford Region can and will sustain long-term economic growth and stability.
Today, our multi-year public policy agenda serves to convey in a proactive manner our positions on emerging issues that we believe will someday contribute positively to the ability of the Hartford Region to compete more effectively in a global economy. At the same time, our goal is to remain visible and vocal on issues historically important to our members so as to strike a healthy balance between cutting edge public policy and the fundamental issues effecting businesses of all sizes.
