Hartford is an Education Hub
In 2018, USA Today ranked Connecticut public schools fifth best in the nation, noting the region’s high graduation rate, high scoring in advanced placement test scores, and strong early childhood education programs.
The Hartford Region is a hub of education—generating a well-educated workforce—with dozens of public and private higher learning institutions including the University of Connecticut (with a new downtown location), Capital Community College, the University of Hartford, Trinity College, Wesleyan University, and the University of Saint Joseph.
Collaborations with local colleges and universities provide many opportunities for internships and research assistance. Many students remain in Hartford after graduation, enhancing the region’s talent and contributing to the local economy and business community.
“When students work with local organizations on research projects, just as when they hold internships with local companies, those experiences often lead to students accepting their first job after graduation right here in Hartford,” underscores Trinity College President and Professor of Neuroscience Joanne Berger-Sweeney.
