“Even though Eversource Hartford Marathon race week feels different this year, the energy and excitement of the community coming together for a purpose to help others encourage and inspires us,” said Beth Shluger, CEO of the Hartford Marathon Foundation and Race Director of the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. “Every single person involved is making a positive difference with their participation, and we encourage them to visit area restaurants and businesses to support local like they would this week any other year. We have worked hard to create special experiences like Step One Day, the Mobile Medal, and the RUNetwork digital platform to help everyone feel connected and ready to take on their goal, whether it’s 3.1 miles over the weekend or the 4-race Grit & Gutsy Challenge.”

“The Eversource Hartford Marathon is persevering through these unprecedented times by finding creative ways to give runners the opportunity to participate,” said Eversource Chairman, CEO and President Jim Judge. “We couldn’t be prouder to be the title sponsor of this prestigious road race that supports local non-profit organizations. Hundreds of our employees share that sentiment and will be lacing up their sneakers to hit the pavement in this year’s virtual event with hundreds more cheering them on from afar.”
