Ms. Winkler represents the workforce and business interests of 30 major insurance and financial services [IFS] companies in the state of Connecticut, USA, including P&C, life/retirement, and health insurers as well as financial services companies and service providers. Ms. Winkler provides strategic direction and management to a Board of Directors across the common goal of economic development including major initiatives in workforce development, public advocacy, and business attraction. As an industry leader, she manages strategic, public-private, high priority projects of business recruitment, selling the strengths of Connecticutā€™s IFS industry, and the Insurance Capital of the U.S., to bring net new jobs to theĀ economy.

David Lehman Commissioner Connecticut Department of Economic and Community DevelopmentĀ (DECD)

Ā David Lehman serves as the Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the state agency that oversees a wide range of programs promoting business growth, brownfield redevelopment, the arts, historic preservation, and tourism.

David also serves as the Governorā€™s Senior Economic Advisor. He is hard at work at creating an innovative public-private partnership between DECD and AdvanceCT (formerly CERC) that will provide a new economic development delivery model for our state.

David GriggsĀ President and CEOĀ MetroHartford Alliance

Ā David Griggs is President and CEO of the MetroHartford Alliance, the regionā€™s business and economic development organization that drives economic prosperity through job retention and creation and promotes the Greater Hartford Region as an exceptional place to build a business, an industry, a career, and a future. In this role, Mr. Griggs works with leaders of the regionā€™sĀ private-sector employers to ensure that the organization is strongly positioned to leverage economic development opportunities through planning, research, data, and marketing. He also partners with public-sector decision-makers to secure a financial base that will enhance the Allianceā€™s capacity to drive economic growth, retain jobs, and create new ones in a variety of sectors for generations.

Ryan Severino Chief Economist JLL

Ryan Severino is the chief economist at JLL where he manages the economics team and is responsible for global and regional economic research, analysis, and forecasting as well as property market forecasting.

 

Prior to JLL, Ryan served as a senior economist and director of research at Reis in the research and economics department, the team responsible for the firm’s market forecasting, valuation, and portfolio analytics services. Ryan also served as the Associate Director of Research at MetLife Real Estate Investments where he was responsible for macroeconomic and real estate market analysis, formulating portfolio strategy, and conducting deal reviews. Before joining MetLife, Ryan served as the Director of Investment Strategy and Market Research at Starwood Capital Group where he directed the entire research effort at the firm. Ryan has also held research positions at Prudential Real Estate Investors and UBS.
