Easterseals Veterans Rally Point Help Save Veterans Business after Fire
Norwich, Connecticut – On February 10th local restaurant Uncle D’ Blazing BBQ suffered major damage due to a fire. Uncle D’s owners Angy and Dwayne, who is a Veteran of the US Navy, knew of the new Easterseals Veterans Rally Point in Norwich. This state-of-the art facility which has a Fitness Center, Makerspace, Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, and a Commercial Grade Kitchen seemed like an option to save Uncle D’s. When VRP was contacted we were more than willing to assist Angy and Dwayne by letting them use the kitchen to prepare food so that they could continue with their catering jobs. Uncle D’s Blazing BBQ also owns a food truck so with the use of a kitchen they are now able to prepare and serve meals daily to keep their business going while the restaurant is repaired.
