ELLINGTON, CONN. (July 12, 2021) – Five Eight Holdings, a real estate investment company focused on reviving properties and uplifting communities in Connecticut, is proud to announce Managing Partner Richard Brown has been named to the executive leadership team of Connecticut Real Estate Investors Association (CTREIA). Brown joins CTREIA as Director of Coaching and Chief Membership Officer, and will expand the organization’s capacity to inspire, educate, and equip novice and seasoned real estate investors for success.

“Every role in my career has revolved around building community and making Greater Hartford a better place,” said Brown. “Five Eight Holdings allows me to bring distressed properties back from the brink and to energize communities, one property at a time. With CTREIA, I have a unique opportunity to help people write their own real estate success stories and to realize their potential as business owners and community builders.”

Five Eight Holdings invests in and renovates properties, including multi-family homes and rentals. They gain updated aesthetic, are filled with desirable amenities, and are made affordable for new owners and renters. Five Eight Holdings also purchases properties from those looking to get out from under ownership. CTREIA provides coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and networking for its membership. Members also enjoy forums with speakers of local and national renown.

“We are dedicated to helping those interested in real estate investing to gain the confidence and information needed for successful, rewarding careers,” said Mark Valenti, CTREIA Chief Financial Officer and coach. “CTREIA is proud to announce Rich’s addition to the executive team. He and his work with Five Eight Holdings epitomizes the accomplishment, leadership, and heart we seek to instill in our members.”

“We are so excited to have Rich join our team,” said Ed Mathews, CTREIA Chief Operating Officer and Director of Marketing. “As a CTREIA Coaching Program graduate himself, he embodies what we are going for with our coaching program. Rich has built a tremendous company at Five Eight Holdings, and we are thrilled to have him bring his experience and expertise to our member and student community.”

Prior to Five Eight Holdings’ formal launch in 2018, Brown served as Vice President of Investor Relations for the MetroHartford Alliance, an economic development partnership dedicated to growing jobs, capital, and talent for the Hartford Region. Brown remains focused on community betterment, particularly on providing young people with experiences and opportunities to lead positive, productive lives. He has served on the Board of Directors for multiple organizations dedicated to children’s welfare, economic empowerment, social services, and education.
