On Tuesday, November 15th Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and Hartford HealthCare, unveiled a community mural painted by Hartford residents. The mural was the culmination of the inaugural DominGO event that took place over the Summer – the first open streets initiative in the City of Hartford.
Hartford HealthCare commissioned local artist Olivia “Fiyabomb” Nguyen to create the 7’ x 8’ mural which features a tree with people of different cultures coming together as a community incorporating elements and landmarks of the City of Hartford. A painting that embodies the community of Hartford and their city.
Different layers of the mural were painted during each of the DominGO events by people from the community who visited the Hartford HealthCare activity hub.
The traveling mural will hang at different places in the city, starting with Hartford HealthCare’s new location at 100 Pearl St., City Hall and other community locations.
The City of Hartford and Hartford HealthCare provided a brief recap of the DominGO event sharing the wonderful impact this event had on the community.
