New Britain – Klingberg Nexus Professional Development Center has now reopened to outside groups. The Nexus, a conference space that was completely remodeled and updated in 2018, provides spaces for 6 to 48 people for private meetings, interviews, focused strategic planning, new-hire orientation, training, board meetings, staff celebrations, or regularly scheduled o site gatherings. The advanced presentation technology enhances every presentation in each of the Klingberg Nexus rooms.

Klingberg Nexus is located in a historic building on a hilltop with beautiful vistas of central Connecticut. The central core of the building has been totally renovated to a state-of-the-art conference center. Rental spaces range from an 8-person board room to a 48-person function or training room, a recreation center, and a 250-seat theater. All rooms are ADA accessible.

“When the Board of the club required a neutral site to hold an entire Board meeting, we reached out to the Nexus Professional Development Center. Our needs were met promptly. Parking, access to the facility, and room configuration met our needs very well. I would definitely suggest the facility again without reservation,” says Rick Mullins, President, Board of Directors, New Britain Boys’ and Girls’ Club.

A recent Fast Company article outlines some of the benefits of face-to-face meetings, such as gaining trust, paying more attention, and picking up hidden messages, which are particularly helpful in initial meetings, project proposals, or portions of projects that require more abstract thinking. In-person meetings allow attendees to express themselves in ways that are limited in virtual meetings, such as body language and facial expression.

All proceeds from the Klingberg Nexus provide vital funding for Klingberg Family Centers’ programs for children and families dealing with the effects of trauma. Visit www.Klingbergnexus.org
