Webster Bank and Kaestle Boos swing high to show their support as Platinum Sponsors of the 28th annual Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) Ivan Lendl Golf Classic taking place May 8, 2023 at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell. NBC Connecticut’s Bob Maxon returns this year as guest emcee along with tennis legend, Ivan Lendl.

The HFSC Ivan Lendl Golf Classic helps individuals living with disabilities pursue their dreams through competitive and recreational sports and inclusive activities. The HFSC Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp provides opportunities for youth from ages 5 to 19 to foster peer connections, build selfconfidence and develop athletic skills.

Thanks to donors and sponsors, HFSC has been able to sustain and offer their adaptive sports program and camp at no cost to participants. Jonathan Slifka, West Hartford resident, Executive Assistant to the Commissioner of the Connecticut State Department of Aging and Disability Services, and event chair notes that the benefits of camp are comprehensive: “We can help a young athlete compete at her highest potential, introduce a child to a new inclusive activity and launch individual’s living with disabilities on a lifelong journey toward health and fitness.”

“Webster Bank and Kaestle Boos Associates lead the way as philanthropic investors in our adaptive sports programs, enhancing access to recreational and competitive fitness activities for individuals living with disabilities,”” says Lynn Ricci, FACHE, HFSC president and CEO, “Thanks to their leadership and the generosity of all our sponsors and participants we will expand our swim and track programs, offer more inclusive recreation opportunities and add inclusive tennis skills to our year-round programming, in addition to hosting our one-of-a-kind adaptive sports day camp.”

Individuals can support the event through a sponsorship, an auction item donation, or by registering to play.
