Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week, a global initiative that raises awareness and support for breastfeeding. World Breastfeeding Week takes place each year from August 1-7 with each year focusing on a unique theme. This year’s theme is “Step it Up for Breastfeeding Education and Support,” which calls our community to do their part to support breastfeeding families.

Saint Francis and Trinity Health Of New England are passionate about providing resources for new and expecting parents to help them learn about and succeed in breastfeeding. This year, community partners were invited to celebrate this special week by providing information about their services and how they support the breastfeeding initiative. The event included some amazing prizes that were raffled off! Trinity Health Of New England will spend the week educating staff about breastfeeding with daily topics and trivia questions and taking part in other World Breastfeeding Week celebrations across the state.

Mary Carnemolla, RN, Baby-Friendly/Prepared Childbirth Coordinator, Saint Francis Hospital, represents the hospital at the World Breastfeeding Week educational event held at the hospital on August 1.
