Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to welcome three new associates to the Firm. Julie P. Jaquays, Kelsey Scarlett, and Nicholas Yu will be located in our Hartford office.
Julie was a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Jeffrey Alker Meyer for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and a Certified Legal Intern for the New Haven Legal Assistance Association. She received her J.D. from Quinnipiac School of Law and her B.S. from Nova Southeastern University.
Kelsey was a Legal Intern for the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor. She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.S. from Bowdoin University
Nicholas was a judicial intern for the Honorable Serge Georges, Jr. of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, as well as the Honorable Vanessa L. Bryant of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Nicholas was a student-attorney with Boston College Law School’s civil litigation clinic, where he provided pro bono legal services to tenants facing eviction during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also represented clients challenging denials of social security benefits. Nick is also fluent in Mandarin. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School and his B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
