HARTFORD, CONN., May 11, 2022 – The Urban League of Greater Hartford (ULGH) will connect hundreds of jobseekers and area employers at its 22nd Employment Empowerment Expo & Career Fair on Wednesday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Stanley Black & Decker Manufactory 4.0 at One Constitution Plaza in Downtown Hartford, Conn. The objective is to empower people to obtain equitable, secure, gainful employment in their desired job or industry and present employers with a qualified and enthusiastic selection of diverse candidates. Advance registration for the free event is suggested, but not required, at https://ulghcareerfair2022.eventbrite.com. Walk-ins are welcome.

“Our employment expo is unique and one of the most valuable in the region to all participants,” explains David Hopkins, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Hartford. “Attendees include individuals ranging in experience looking to pursue a specific career, entrepreneurs starting and building their business, as well as others seeking to add a new stream of income.” Participating companies represent financial services, healthcare, technology, logistics, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, transportation, and more, with several conducting on-site interviewing.

“Everyone should come prepared to network and learn tips from experts on achieving fulfilling work in a healthy and equitable work environment, suitable for the new economy,” says Hopkins. “And what better place to host this than the Stanley, Black & Decker Manufactory, where innovation, new-skilling, and upskilling is a priority.”

The free event features interview preparation, a photographer taking professional headshots, and workshops on employability skills training, entrepreneurship, and professional development, resume writing and critique, mock interviews and more.

The Presenting Sponsor of the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s 2022 Employment Empowerment Expo & Career Fair is Stanley Black & Decker, and the Expo will take place inside the company’s innovative 23,000-sq.-ft. Manufactory 4.0 in Hartford. Many businesses represented at the Expo work with the Urban League of Greater Hartford throughout the year, including Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) who will be recognized as the “Employment Partner of the Year”.
