Hartford, CT – United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut is pleased to announce that Vittoria Pace has been named Chair of its Board of Directors. Pace assumes this position after serving as Vice Chair on the Board for two years.

She cares deeply about the well-being of local children and families and is passionate about tackling the tough challenges that impact our community. Under her leadership, our organization is confident that we will be well-positioned to build toward more equitable outcomes for every person in our region.” 

Pace is the Vice President of Personal Lines Auto Claims at The Hartford. She has an extensive background in Claims, Supplier Management (on and off shore), Client Relationships, Customer Experience, Innovation, Organizational Design and Strategy Development. Her recent activities include the development and implementation of artificial intelligence and augmented decision-making models in the auto and property claim handling models. 

Pace has been a long-time United Way leadership volunteer.  She is the immediate past Chair of the organization’s Advocacy Committee and past Chair of Women United, where, under her leadership, the group had its most successful fund-raising campaigns, netting in excess of $1.5 million during her tenure. 

  In January 2020, Pace was recognized by the National Association of Italian American Women as a “2020 Wise Women” for her dedication and accomplishments as a woman of Italian American descent.  In 2022, she was invited to its national Board of Directors. 

Pace resides in Glastonbury, CT and is a proud Italian American, with her parents having immigrated to the United States after World War II. She is an avid traveler and sportsman, enjoying golf, pickleball and tennis player, having played competitively in college and as a member of the USTA. 

Pace possess an M.B.A. in International Business from University of Hartford and a B.A.  in International Political Science from Catholic University of America. She is also holder of two U.S. Patents related to process design.
