For United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, the work we do has always been and continues to be for the love of good. Good for children. Good for families. Good for communities. We’re proud to announce that the 2016 United Way Campaign has raised nearly $21 million to date, thanks to the generous support of individual donors, area workplaces and community partners.

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Year of Caring. This past fall, we mobilized more than 4,000 volunteers and counting – all with the goal of helping children succeed in school, ensuring families are financially secure and providing access to immediate emergency assistance.

Why does your organization invest in the MetroHartford Alliance?
How does the Alliance’s work align with your goals, values and/or culture?

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut invests with the MetroHartford Alliance because of its commitment to the continued development of the Hartford Region. As partners, we are committed to ensuring young people graduate from high school college and career ready, and developing an educated workforce to support competitive advantages for employers. We believe that this shared commitment results in the region being one where people want to live, work and raise a family.

How has your company engaged with the Alliance over the past year or so?
(E.g., events attended, sponsorships, committee involvement)

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut has been a return guest on the Pulse of the Region and has kicked off its annual campaigns over the last several years with the summer MetroHartford Alliance Rising Star Breakfast. Our organization also engages with the Alliance through quarterly meetings of Strategic Partners and Leadership Investors and its employee membership in HYPE.
