Award Winners:

Walter Harrison has served as president of the University of Hartford since 1998, a period that spans nearly a third of the University’s history. Under his leadership, the University has experienced a period of energy and vitality unmatched in its history. During this period, which included two significant national economic downturns, the University’s academic quality, finances, and fundraising have all improved dramatically. He has announced that he will retire on June 30, 2017.

Linda J. Kelly served as president of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving from 2005-2017. During her eleven-year tenure, she led the Foundation through a time of impressive and meaningful growth. Ms. Kelly also provided philanthropic leadership at the state and national levels, serving on the board of directors of Connecticut Council for Philanthropy and MetroHartford Alliance, as a steering committee member of the national Community Foundation Opportunity Network, and on the planning committee of the Larger Community Foundations (U.S.).

The Bradley Development League (BDL) is a non-profit consortium of four towns (East Granby, Suffield, Windsor and Windsor Locks) surrounding Bradley International Airport that markets the airport and region for economic development purposes. BDL presently boasts more than 2,000 acres of buildable land within the four towns, sharing the economic engine of Bradley Airport, including highway access provided by Route 20 and Interstate 91. By acting together, the communities, area businesses and the airport can realize greater economic and community benefits.
