To help business, civic and academic leaders foster connections with their elected officials, the MetroHartford Alliance, in partnership with The New England Council, recently hosted a luncheon with Senator Richard Blumenthal. The event provided Alliance investors with an opportunity to learn about Senator Blumenthal’s legislative priorities and ask questions of the Senator.
“MetroHartford Alliance plays a critical role in Connecticut’s future as an advocate for creative and productive business leaders in the Hartford area,” said Richard Blumenthal. “I was honored to join the innovators that drive job growth in Connecticut and I will continue to fight for policies that enable economic growth and job creation.”
During his presentation, Senator Blumenthal discussed several of his priorities as the delegation heads back to Washington. Included in his remarks were support for job creation, specifically entrepreneurship, innovation, startups and the need to stimulate and support this kind of growth through tax credits. Additionally, he identified the need to support our community colleges and technical schools that have identified trades in demand and are providing the practical, hands on training necessary to match skills with the jobs that are being created.
