HYPE (Hartford Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs)
on April 2 hosted a Community Collection as part of its Get HYPEd event at the Polish National Home in Hartford. HYPE's Community Involvement Committee chose Hands on Hartford as the recipient of this latest Community Collection. Hands on Hartford is an organization that provides direct services "to people in need by promoting civic engagement and volunteerism." The non-perishable food collection - totaling 1,629 items or 625 pounds of food - will benefit Hands on Hartford's Backpack Nutrition Program for Hartford students, as well as the Manna Food Pantry located at South Congregational Church.
