Seven Greater Hartford Companies Named Business Champions
Hartford Business Journal and MetroHartford Alliance Recognize Outstanding Hartford, Conn. (June 5, 2014)
– The 2014 Business Champions Awards Breakfast, produced in partnership by the Hartford Business Journal and MetroHartford Alliance, kicked-off the Connecticut Business Expo on June 5th by honoring seven privately held companies within the region in the categories of innovation, community involvement, workforce practices, revenue growth and the best new start-up.

The 2014 Business Champions, include:
“We take great pride in recognizing these privately owned businesses for their impressive achievements and in driving the economic and employment growth in the city and region,” said Oz Griebel, president and CEO of the MetroHartford Alliance.
Winners were required to be a privately held business or a stand-alone division of a privately held business; a for-profit organization; and located in one of the 61 towns of Greater Hartford.

The judges for the 2014 Business Champions Awards were Manon Cox, president and CEO of Protein Sciences Corporation; Josh Hagstrom, co-founder and vice president of sales for Interscape Commercial Environments; and Marilyn Risi, executive director of the Upper Albany Main Street Program.
