Connecticut Health Council Event with Dr. Reed Tuckson
The Connecticut Health Council’s “The Evolving Health Care Landscape: The Challenges and Opportunities for Collaborative Actions to Enhance Outcomes” took place on September 30. Dr. Reed Tuckson led a tremendous discussion on such topics including:
The importance of supporting patients to become more engaged in their health care experiences.
Educating patients so they are empowered with a higher probability to improve their outcomes and reduce costs.
The many ways for patients to become more educated and informed, including:
- Understanding the key drivers that define the practice of prevention and health care delivery.
-Maximizing how they manage health outcomes; understanding the role of cost, quality, reimbursement, biotechnology innovation, consumerism and care management.
- Empowering themselves to understand the opportunities for synergistic, coordinated and integrated collaboration across health professions and disciplines; settings of care; and the key stakeholders that will improve their experience.
The program also engaged key Connecticut Health Council constituents to promote our state as a major center for health care excellence on a national level. A special thank you to our event sponsors, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, and our media sponsors, the Hartford Courant Media Group and Fox Connecticut Media Group.
