At times, Connecticut has been innovative, creative and resilient in adopting sustainable and strategic technology. Because our State adopted certain technologies relatively early, our legacy systems now need “next generation” solutions. This post examines the need to modernize the State of Connecticut's information technology systems. Recommendations include the development of a statewide IT strategy, elevating the Chief Information Officer position to report to the Governor, and leveraging industry expertise through private sector participation in a new legislative committee focused on this issue.
