MetroHartford Alliance receives Gold Award for “Pulse of the Region” radio program at the International Economic Development Council annual conference in Toronto

Hartford, CT (September 26, 2017) – The MetroHartford Alliance was awarded the Gold Award at the 2017 International Economic Development Councils (IEDC) Annual Awards for its weekly radio program “Pulse of the Region,” sponsored by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) and produced in partnership with iHeart Media . The annual awards recognize outstanding Economic Development activities and organizations from across the country.

The award was part of the Internet & New Media Category with a community population of 25,000 – 200,000. The award honors economic development initiatives that recognize innovation in economic development through the deployment of new media formats. It stresses the innovative use of technology to further economic development initiatives.

Pulse of the Region” highlights the tremendous work and partnerships taking place within the City of Hartford and the entire Region, and has included timely and compelling content on a variety of topics, including:

  • Public policy (1-on-1 interviews with Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy and Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin)
  • Marketing the Region (interviews with economic development leaders, hospitality officials and sports coaches and athletic directors)
  • Health care (Leading doctors, hospital CEOs, payors and insurance executives, all of whom work to ensure the health care industry serves as an economic driver in Connecticut
  • Transportation and economic development (in-depth discussions with officials at Bradley International Airport, and local officials developing the land around the airport)
