Webster Bank has announced that Aaron Bohigian, vice president and associate relationship manager, Business Banking, has been named Financial Services Champion for 2018 by Connecticut’s Small Business Association (SBA), according to Anne Hunt, the association’s district director.
The Financial Services Champion award is given each year to an individual who advances small businesses interests through either financial services or accounting, according to the Connecticut SBA.
A Hartford resident, Bohigian oversees the Greater Hartford/West Hartford market for Webster’s Business Banking unit. He was nominated for the award by a peer from the Small Business Development Center last year.
Bohigian, who joined Webster four years ago, recently completed Leadership Greater Hartford’s 11-month Quest leadership training program. He is also the chairman of the programs and professional development committee of FLOW (Future Leaders of West Hartford); treasurer and board member of Knox Inc., a nonprofit that uses horticulture as a catalyst for community engagement and beautification; a small business mentor for entrepreneurs in Hartford’s reSET program; and a resident member of Business for Downtown Hartford, the downtown Hartford business association.
Bohigian and 10 other small business persons and advocates – including April Lukasik, president and CEO of Bright & Early Children’s Learning Centers of North Branford, the SBA’s 2018 Connecticut Small Business Person of the Year – were honored on May 3 at the Annual Small Business Week Awards Luncheon at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven.
