Women’s empowerment and the future of the women’s movement will be the focus of The Connecticut Forum season premiere, Women Rising: Redefining Power in 2018, hosted by United Technologies, on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:30PM at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford.
Featured panelists include Cecile Richards, activist and outgoing president of Planned Parenthood, Roxane Gay, prolific writer, cultural critic, and author of Bad Feminist, and Sallie Krawcheck, CEO and founder of Ellevest and one of the most respected voices on Wall Street. Journalist Alison Stewart will moderate the conversation before a live audience of 2,800.
Our diverse, inter-generational panel of leaders and activists will reflect on this moment, this movement, and the road ahead in this live, unscripted and timely Forum conversation.
“We’re thrilled to bring these extraordinary women to Hartford for a discussion about this new era in the women’s movement,” said Doris Sugarman, executive director of The Connecticut Forum. “Whatever you call it - Times Up, #MeToo, She Persisted - this movement is here to stay and this conversation is critical to us all, not just women.”
“United Technologies is pleased to sponsor The Connecticut Forum’s Women Rising event,” said Beth Amato, UTC’s Executive Vice President and Chief HR Officer. “We are committed to the advancement of women in the workplace and to the importance of openly sharing ideas that move us toward that goal. We look forward to the conversation.”
The UConn School of Business will host a pre-Forum cocktail reception and dinner for special guests as well at CT Forum donors and panelists.
