Robinson+Cole lawyers and staff members participated in Junior Achievement’s “JA in a Day” program at Parkville Community School in Hartford on November 16, 2018. This was the firm's fourteenth “JA in a Day” overall and thirteenth visit to this elementary school.
A total of nine volunteers from Robinson+Cole spent roughly five hours teaching 90 first-grade students a JA-developed curriculum focused on money, needs and wants, family, and the value of hard work. Robinson+Cole partner Christine E. Bromberg, a member of the Board of Directors of JA of Southwest New England, coordinated the effort. The firm is a longtime supporter of JA.
Robinson+Cole’s “JA in a Day,” an annual volunteer opportunity for the firm, supports the overall mission of JA to make students financially responsible, prepared for the workforce, and entrepreneurially savvy. The JA program provides a powerful learning experience for young people because the volunteers, from businesses and the community, work hand-in-hand with classroom teachers, inspire the students through their real-world experience, and implement a hands-on curriculum that allows the students to learn by doing.
