The Holistic Life Foundation (HLF) teaches a unique blend of many styles of yoga, mindfulness, and other self-healing practices. It serves over 10,000 youth per week in Baltimore City Public Schools alone. HLF now teaches these practices to people from all walks of life and demographics, both nationally and internationally. Their work has been featured in Oprah Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, NBC News, CBS News, PBS, Upworthy, The Yoga Journal, and Mindful Magazine.
The conference invites everyone, whether new to mindfulness or long time practitioners, to enjoy a unique opportunity to learn from wellness leaders. HLF will present in the morning followed by a choice of three breakout sessions focused on social-emotional learning and teaching mindfulness to youth.
"I see a lot of kids who are under a lot of pressure and stress, and I love to bring mindfulness techniques into the class,” said Ryan Carlson, a counselor with Enfield public schools, who attended last year’s conference and is excited to learn new techniques this year. “I think it helps kids focus their minds which leads to increased health less anxiety and increased academic performance."
