Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford’s VOICES Program Inspires Hundreds of Women

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. (September 13, 2017) – Nearly 300 women attended VOICES, Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford's largest annual event for women, on the evening of September 11, 2017, at Beth El Temple in West Hartford. Lieutenant Commander Alexa Forsyth Jenkins – the first Jewish woman to command a U.S. Naval warship – explained how her Jewish values of family, community and joy have influenced her approach to leadership, service and teamwork. The dynamic and interactive program inspired attendees to carry these same values into their own lives and work.

VOICES helps to raise resources that support dozens of initiatives and programs that enhance Jewish life in Greater Hartford, in Israel and around the world. VOICES 2018 was co-chaired by Jessica Fish, Lisa Fishman, Laurie Goldsmith and Arlene Neiditz. Dana Keller is Federation's 2018 Women’s Philanthropy Chair, and Laurie Mandell is its 2018 Annual Campaign Chair.

VOICES sponsors included Platinum Sponsors Hartford Business Journal and Shipman & Goodwin; Gold Sponsors Bank of America, Hebrew Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Retirement Visions LLC, Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Simsbury Bank, TD Bank, and Webster Bank; Silver Sponsors The Arlene M. Lipton Memorial Fund and Pullman & Comley LLC; Media Sponsor the Connecticut Jewish Ledger; and In-Kind Sponsors Buds in Bloom (Carol Albert), P’Zazz, and The Wise Old Dog.
