The American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) has elected Robinson+Cole lawyer Norman H. Roos to serve as its treasurer for the coming year. Mr. Roos was installed at the ACMA’s annual meeting on September 16, 2017.
Mr. Roos is chair of Robinson+Cole's Finance Group and concentrates his practice on transactional and regulatory matters relating to the real estate and financial services industries. He represents banks, insurance companies, diversified financial service companies, and other publicly and privately held entities on a broad range of matters involving mortgage banking, consumer and commercial credit transactions, and regulatory compliance.
Formed in 1974, ACMA’s membership consists of more than 400 lawyers in North America who are recognized leaders in the mortgage law industry. To be considered for membership, a qualified lawyer must be nominated by an ACMA Fellow and meet rigorous criteria. As treasurer, Mr. Roos will serve on the Executive Committee and, in that capacity, will also serve on the Board of Regents. In the laddered leadership structure of the ACMA, he will be elected president-elect at next year’s annual meeting, followed by president at the succeeding annual meeting.
