Bloomfield resident Theresa Goode completed The Leadership Challenge®, one of the many leadership development experiences offered by Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH).
Goode is the Executive Director of GOODworks, Inc., a women’s support program that provides gender specific mentoring and counseling that offers hope, healing, and a sense of belonging to diverse groups of women who are incarcerated, paroled or otherwise in transition. Even serving in an executive role, Goode was interested in taking her performance to the next level by refining her leadership skills, leveraging her strengths, and clarifying her goals in order to set a new course for her future.
The Leadership Challenge® is an intensive and highly interactive two-day leadership development experience that Goode says helped her “learn more about my personal leadership style, broadened my thinking, and made me a more effective communicator.”
Goode shares, "My expectations and mindset expanded through my participation in The Leadership Challenge®. Previously, the focus of my organization was limited and small in nature. By expanding my network to include others who have shared goals but different values, skills and networks, I’ve been able to see new potential for growth in my organization that I hadn’t previously noticed. GOODWorks, Inc. has received far more exposure and reached new audiences as a result. I’ve also come to see leadership development as an ongoing process; one which I will continue so that my organization can have the greatest impact possible in the lives of women who so desperately need it.”
