Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford Announces New Board Chairperson

HARTFORD, CONN. (May 7, 2019) – Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford announced today that Deacon Dennis R. Ferguson was recently elected Chairperson for the agency’s Board of Trustees.

 

Dennis is a self-employed attorney of General Law with an emphasis on Estate Planning, Probate Law, and Litigation. He is also Director for the Office of the Deaf Apostolate for the Archdiocese of Hartford, and Deacon at St. Timothy Church in West Hartford.

 

Dennis is a member of various local and national boards including the American School for the Deaf and the William J. Ryan Scholarship Committee. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Mercy Community Health and Catholic Health East.

 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Dennis was the Director of Residential Programs for the Connecticut Department of Developmental Disabilities for twenty-three years and an Impartial Hearing Officer for the Connecticut Department of Social Services’ Bureau of Rehabilitation Services for twelve years.

 

Dennis is married to Linda Dow, recently retired Chief Counsel for the Human Resources Division of the Connecticut Judicial Branch. They have three children and seven grandchildren, who, he says, live too far away:  Sacramento, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and Boston, Massachusetts.
