Whittlesey’s Annual Community Day Hits 10 Year Mark

For the 10th consecutive year, on June 28, 2019, Whittlesey team members took to the communities where they live and work to volunteer in the name of “Community Day,” the Firm’s annual day of community service.

“Community service runs deep in our culture. We sponsor community‐driven events throughout the year,” said Drew Andrews, Managing Partner at Whittlesey. “It’s more than a firm initiative; it’s a way for us to live out our values and give back to the communities we serve. We care deeply about our communities, and by working collectively, we can make a positive impact. No matter which project our team members chose, they will have spent the day giving back to our communities in a meaningful way.” This year’s efforts resulted in over 90 team members across Connecticut and western Massachusetts volunteering with local organizations including:

Bushnell Park Foundation: Whittlesey team members participated in beautification projects throughout the park. Team members helped with park clean‐up, which included gardening and spreading mulch. Bushnell Park is a fixture in our downtown Hartford community and our team was proud to help keep it beautiful!

Central Coast YMCA – Camp Mountain Laurel YMCA: Summer camp has just begun at Camp Mountain Laurel YMCA. Whittlesey team members spent the day doing hands‐on work at the YMCA to prep it for a summer of fun. Team Whittlesey helped with beautification projects for the campers. Let the Best Summer Ever begin!

Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity: Habitat for Humanity is busy building or renovating homes to provide low‐income families in  the Greater Springfield area the opportunity of homeownership. Team members volunteer activities ranged from stocking and organizing Habitat’s “ReStore” location to working on a construction site that will provide a low‐income family a home.
