Taia Lionetti of New Britain, Conn. has joined the Middletown, Conn.-based Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTCSB) as Manager of Convention Services &
E-Marketing. Lionetti works with meeting planners and event managers who are considering or have booked conventions or conferences in the northern part of Connecticut, servicing their groups’ needs to ensure a successful Connecticut experience. In addition, she manages the CTCSB’s Social Media platforms and online presence.
“Taia Lionetti is a tremendous addition to our Bureau staff and we are excited that she is part of our team,” explains Robert Murdock, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau, the State’s official meetings and sports event sales and marketing organization. “During her impressive internship with our Bureau last year, Taia was instrumental in the development of our internal marketing pieces and our Fall 2018 Sports Newsletter. Her previous knowledge of our office’s operations, our staff, and our partnerships across the state has enabled her to ‘hit the ground running’ as she assists meeting planners and event managers and builds new relationships with convention services providers. Taia manages our Bureau’s convention services for the northern part of Connecticut,” adds Murdock. “Susan Henrique, our Bureau’s Director of Business Development & Convention Services, continues to serve the southern half of the state.”
Lionetti is a magna cum laude graduate of Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism. In addition to her Sales & Administration internship at the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau, she was an Event Services intern at the Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Hartford in Bloomfield, Conn. While pursuing her degree, she was employed as a Manager of the CCSU Student Center, responsible for the general supervision of an 80,000-sq.-ft. multi-purpose facility, as well as for two support facilities, and a staff of student employees. Lionetti also worked as an Administrative Assistant for CCSU’s Student Activities/Leadership Development Office, and was President of the school’s Central Activities Network (CAN), a student-run event programming board that planned, promoted and executed campus activities.
A 2019 recipient of the President’s Citation Award at Central Connecticut State University, Lionetti also was named the university’s 2019 David A. Ross Student Leader of the Year, in recognition of her leadership abilities and acting as a role model to others.
