Robinson+Cole Lawyer Among Those Honored for Establishing Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative

At its annual Breakfast With Champions event, Interval House, Connecticut’s largest domestic violence intervention and prevention agency, honored the members of the organization’s Men Make A Difference, Men Against Domestic Violence group, whose membership includes Robinson+Cole lawyer Eric D. Daniels, one of the founding members of the group. The celebration, which is held in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, took place on October 17, 2019 in Simsbury, Connecticut.

Mr. Daniels served as Robinson+Cole's managing partner from 2000 to 2009 and currently serves as partner in charge of the firm's Hartford office. Mr. Daniels dedicates significant time and skills to many community organizations.

Founded in 1977, Interval House has positively affected the lives of nearly 200,000 women and children who have experienced psychological and physical abuse at the hands of a domestic or intimate partner. Robinson+Cole has a long-standing commitment to Interval House and its mission to provide services to prevent and break the cycle of family and intimate partner abuse, proudly serving as pro bono counsel for the organization for many years. In 2012, working together with Interval House, Robinson+Cole launched the Domestic Violence Restraining Order Program, which gives victims of domestic violence, who otherwise would not be represented, access to attorney advice and help in navigating the court system. Robinson+Cole lawyer Lauren M. Sigg currently serves on the Interval House Board of Directors.

Since 2009, the year Interval House and US Senator Richard Blumenthal co-founded Men Make a Difference, Men Against Domestic Violence, the group of prominent Connecticut men have distributed thousands of educational brochures and training materials, raised money for the cause against domestic violence, and spoken to thousands of area residents — mostly boys and young men. The message and mission is clear: there is never an excuse for domestic violence.
