Aurora Women & Girls Foundation Invites Hartford to Its Annual Fundraiser

LUMINARY CELEBRATION

West Hartford, CT — Aurora Women & Girls Foundation announces the Luminary Celebration, an inspiring evening gathering community champions in support of women and girls across Greater Hartford. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 PM at The Bushnell’s Belding Theater in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Luminary Celebration is Aurora’s signature annual event – a moment to applaud the stories of women and girls whose lives have been changed through Aurora’s work. We honor every luminary in the room: the people who believe that when women and girls thrive, entire communities are transformed.

This year’s keynote speaker is Jennifer Rizzotti, President of the Connecticut Sun. A trailblazer in women’s basketball and a passionate advocate for women in leadership, Rizzotti brings a powerful voice to Aurora’s mission. Her remarks promise to inspire and energize everyone in the room.

Guests will enjoy an evening of connection, celebration, and community. The event is both a celebration of impact and a call to action—an opportunity for attendees to deepen their commitment to a more equitable Greater Hartford.

“Every person who walks through the doors is a luminary, someone who believes in the power of women and girls to uplift our entire community.  Sharing the stories of women and girls who make the most of the opportunities provided by our luminaries’ generosity makes justice and equity personal—we show the impact on individual lives, but also the ripples outward that impact children, families, and neighbors. We are so grateful for your continued support, and we would be honored to celebrate with you on October 14th for an evening that sparkles with inspiration,” said Aurora’s Executive Director, Jenny Steadman, Ph.D.
