Baby Items Needed! Corporate Engagement Opportunity Available Through The Village
Giving campaign and heartwarming event available to engage and inspire staff.
Hartford, Conn. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, The Village for Families & Children (The Village) invites local businesses to rally their teams and help provide essential support to new and expecting parents at its upcoming Community Baby Shower in May.
The initiative provides a meaningful opportunity for companies to engage their staff, get involved in the community and make a tangible difference for a new family.
“Welcoming a child into the world is a special time, but the financial costs are a big challenge for new parents,” said Village President and CEO Hector Glynn. “Support for this initiative will directly help local families with crucial items like diapers, creams, clothing, bottles, nursing pads and more—while significantly reducing their financial stress.”
Physical and monetary donations to the Baby Shower Drive will help families who are part of The Village’s Stronger Families, Stronger Futures (SF2) program, which provides new parents in Greater Hartford with training, resources and in-home support to help ensure their family’s healthy development.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of local corporations and community donors, the drive ensured that 100 families had all the essentials they needed for their child’s early days.
By participating in the Baby Shower Drive, businesses will see firsthand the impact of their generosity. The Village also offers unique engagement opportunities for participating companies, including tours of its historic campus and visits from Village staff to share impact stories and informative Lunch & Learns focused on community issues.
Companies interested in participating can contact Village Senior Director of Development Sarah Adanti at sadanti@thevillage.org or (860) 297-0545 — and learn about the Community Baby Shower Drive at thevillage.org/baby.
