Community Housing Advocates Earns Highest CARF Accreditation Level
(Hartford, CT…) Community Housing Advocates (CHA), the administrative umbrella organization for Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation and My Sisters’ Place, has been awarded a prestigious Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) — the highest level of accreditation the organization grants.
“This recognition reflects the extraordinary dedication of our staff and their unwavering belief in our mission. Every day, they work tirelessly to ensure that individuals and families experiencing homelessness are met with compassion, respect, and high-quality services,” commented Kara Capone, CHA CEO. “Earning the highest level of accreditation from CARF International affirms our commitment to excellence and strengthens our resolve to continue expanding our impact in the community.”
CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body that evaluates health and human service organizations worldwide based on rigorous standards for service quality, outcomes, and organizational effectiveness.
The accreditation follows an intensive review process that included a comprehensive internal evaluation and a multi-day, on-site survey conducted by expert reviewers. Surveyors interviewed staff and clients, observed program operations, and examined documentation to ensure compliance with internationally recognized best practices.
In its official notification, CARF stated that the accreditation reflects CHA’s “dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served” and noted a clear pattern of conformance to standards.
Community Housing Advocates’ affiliate organizations provide housing and support services to more than 2,500 men, women, and children in Greater Hartford and Middletown who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness each year.
