Max Cares Foundation Announces Twelve Recipients of 2025 Hospitality and Culinary Arts Scholarships

Scholarships Totaling $30K to Support Greater Hartford and Springfield College Students

(June 25, 2025) Hartford, CT | Max Cares Foundation (MCF), a non-profit charitable organization, announced today the twelve students who have been awarded the 2025 Max Cares Foundation Culinary Arts and Hospitality Scholarships. The Foundation provides financial support to college-bound or currently-enrolled students from the Greater Hartford or Greater Springfield regions who are pursuing an education in the Culinary Arts or Hospitality fields.

The total amount of scholarship funding for 2025 is $30,000. MCF Board Member and Scholarship Committee Chair Carol McCabe states, "We had more applicants than ever this year. The increase in student interest in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management fields and the excellence of our recipients indicates a strong future for this industry."

The 2025 Max Cares Foundation Scholarship recipients are:

  • Madison Bertrand enrolled at Johnson and Wales

  • Taylor DeMaio enrolled at Johnson and Wales

  • Samantha Lowe enrolled at Holyoke Community College

  • Jack Mehlman enrolled at Culinary Institute of America

  • Simeon Night enrolled at Connecticut State Community College at Manchester

  • Janiyah Rosado enrolled at Johnson and Wales

  • Reise Saavedra enrolled at Johnson and Wales

  • Evan Salemi enrolled at Connecticut State Community College at Manchester

  • Lauren Shea enrolled at University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management

  • Eric Sirard enrolled at Johnson and Wales

  • Jackson Smith enrolled at Johnson and Wales

  • Samara Thadison enrolled at Johnson and Wales

Applications for the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Scholarships for the next school year will be announced in Spring 2026. More information can be found at MaxCaresFoundation.org.
