DoorDash, MetroHartford Alliance, and City of Hartford Partner to Launch Local Business Workshop

Registration is now open for a free, one-day workshop for Hartford small business owners

HARTFORD, Conn. (May 1, 2026) — DoorDash, MetroHartford Alliance/Hartford Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Hartford today opened applications for the Local Business Workshop — a free, one-day, in-person training on May 12 designed to help businesses grow.

The Workshop provides local small business owners with hands-on training on DoorDash tools and advertising, education on new AI-powered tools, direct connections to local business support organizations, and networking with peers — all in a single day. It builds on DoorDash’s Accelerator for Local Businesses, which has supported more than 400 small businesses nationwide since 2021.

“Supporting small businesses is a top priority for Hartford,” said Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam. “By partnering with DoorDash and MetroHartford Alliance, we’re making it possible for local entrepreneurs to access resources, build connections, and continue driving our economy forward.”

“MetroHartford Alliance and the Hartford Chamber of Commerce are proud to partner with DoorDash and the City of Hartford to deliver this opportunity to our local business community,” said Hartford Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julio Concepción. “This Workshop connects entrepreneurs not just to new tools, but to a broader ecosystem of support that can help them grow and navigate today’s challenges.”

“Small businesses are at the heart of Hartford’s economy, and this Workshop is about bringing together the right partners to make it easier to run and grow their business,” said Daniela Michanie, Head of New England Public Engagement for DoorDash. “By working alongside MetroHartford Alliance, the Hartford Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor Arulampalam, we want to help entrepreneurs have access to the tools, resources, and networks they need to succeed.”

Registrations for the Hartford Workshop are now open. Eligible businesses must be independently owned, operate a brick-and-mortar storefront, and have three or fewer locations.
