Experienced Attorney Joins Harris Beach Murtha’s Business Litigation Practice Group

(Jan. 21, 2026) Holley L. Claiborn, an attorney with extensive business litigation experience, has joined Harris Beach Murtha as Senior Counsel and will represent

organizations across all industries – from global leaders to individual and family operations – in various types of business conflicts, ranging from minor disagreements to significant legal battles.

She will regularly represent publicly traded companies, privately held businesses, private equity firms and not-for-profit organizations in state and federal trial and appellate courts, mediations, arbitrations and administrative investigations and proceedings.

“Holley has more than two decades of courtroom experience with a strong track record of securing victories,” said Jennifer L. Morgan, co-leader of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group. “She has a good sense of the motivations behind cases and is skilled at securing the best possible results, whether by settlement, judgment or verdict.”

Holley previously served more than 20 years as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice/Office of the United States Trustee, where she routinely litigated and negotiated complex legal, business and financial issues. Her experience includes several high-profile Chapter 11 cases in Connecticut, such as Ho Wan Kwok (a/k/a Miles Guo), Curtis James Jackson, III (50 Cent), Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich and O.W. Bunker. She also handled Chapter 7 cases involving denial of discharge and dismissal based upon abuse, resulting in prevention of discharge of over 40 million dollars in debt. Holley also served as a liaison to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and provided assistance with criminal prosecutions related to debtors and other individuals.

Holley’s background also includes creditors’ rights litigation and foreclosure cases on behalf of commercial lenders in state and federal court, as well as managing an East Coast environmental litigation docket for a multi-national energy company consisting of several dozen cases with exposure of over $50 million in liability.

She joins the firm’s New Haven office.
