Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care Celebrates Opening of New Hartford Center Near Hartford Hospital
The new center at Washington Street and Retreat Avenue offers extended hours, advanced treatment capabilities, and a direct connection to Hartford Hospital just minutes away
HARTFORD, Conn. (September 25, 2026) – Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care today celebrated the opening of its newest center just steps from Hartford Hospital, with a ribbon cutting ceremony, bringing advanced, on-demand care with access to the Hartford HealthCare network to one of Connecticut's most densely populated areas.
Located directly across from the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts at the corner of Washington Street and Retreat Avenue, the new Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth center is minutes from Hartford Hospital and gives customers late-night access, seven days a week, to on-demand care with advanced services including IV fluids and medications, and onsite labs and X-rays.
The new center is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily, at 340 Washington Street. With off-street parking and nearby access to public transportation, the center provides convenient access to care for people ages 6 months and older. The center features welcoming finishes and a thoughtfully designed space that makes getting care more inviting and accessible for all customers.
"Improving access to timely, high-quality care is central to our mission," said Cheryl Ficara, RN, MS, president of Hartford Hospital and senior vice president of Hartford HealthCare. "The addition of Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care on the Hartford Hospital campus expands convenient access to appropriate care while strengthening connectivity to the full continuum of services across Hartford Hospital and Hartford HealthCare. Together, we're making it easier for patients to receive the right care, close to home, when and where they need it most."
Thoughtfully designed treatment rooms enable the care team to provide more advanced care than is typical in an urgent care setting, including IV fluids and medications. Onsite labs and X-rays support quick diagnosis in a single visit, and when a customer needs a higher level of care, the center is just minutes from Hartford Hospital, with a direct line to the emergency department. If follow-up or specialty care is recommended, the center can connect customers to Hartford HealthCare specialists and advanced diagnostic testing. Customers can confidently navigate their healthcare journey—whether it's a simple visit or follow-up treatment—within one trusted and integrated system.
“As a parent, I know how stressful it is to weigh your healthcare options when the baby wakes up sick or your teen takes a bad fall at evening practice. That’s why I’m so pleased we're able to provide a more affordable option for quality care from Hartford HealthCare providers until 10 p.m. every day,” said Andrea Williams, vice president of operations, Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth. “This is one of the busiest parts of Hartford, and the people who live and work here now have trusted, connected care when and where they need it.”
“Having this center so closely connected to Hartford Hospital allows our teams to think beyond the immediate visit and consider what each customer may need next,” said Judah Fierstein, MD, MS, medical director, Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care. “That clinical connection gives us the ability to provide care in the community while helping customers move smoothly through the Hartford HealthCare system when additional expertise or services are needed.”
The new center joins Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth's growing network of neighborhood urgent care locations across Connecticut, expanding access to convenient, quality non-emergency care. When communities have accessible care, patients can seek treatment sooner, helping address health concerns before they become more serious. For many non-life-threatening conditions, urgent care often offers a more affordable alternative to the emergency department, allowing people to receive the right level of care while helping preserve emergency resources for those who need them most.
“I could not be prouder or more excited to expand access to care and make healthcare more affordable in Connecticut,” said Jeffrey A. Flaks, president and chief executive officer of Hartford HealthCare. “This effort reflects our broader strategy to make healthcare more affordable, modernize care and position Hartford Hospital as a magnet for research, teaching, innovation, and clinical discovery. The new Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care center is another important step forward, demonstrating our continued investment in the region, bringing advanced, on-demand care closer to home, strengthening connections across our system, and ensuring access to world-class care.”
