Honor a Loved One and Help End Homelessness at The Bushnell in April
HARTFORD, CT (March 11, 2026) – Patrons of The Bushnell attending Disney’s Beauty and the Beast this April will have more than just a magical theater experience—they will also have the opportunity to honor a loved one while supporting the important work of My Sisters' Place.
During each performance, volunteers from My Sisters’ Place will be stationed at an information table inviting theatergoers to write the name of a loved one on a free paper rose. The roses will then be displayed on the walls inside The Bushnell throughout the run of the show, creating a beautiful visual tribute to family members, friends, and loved ones.
There is no cost for attendees to participate. However, thanks to the generosity of Max Cares Foundation, each rose placed on the wall will make a meaningful impact. The foundation has pledged to donate $1 to My Sisters’ Place for every paper rose displayed, up to $2,500, at the conclusion of the show’s run.
Funds raised through this special initiative will support My Sisters’ Place programs that help individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the community.
My Sisters’ Place is dedicated to ending homelessness by providing safe housing and comprehensive supportive services that empower women, families, and individuals throughout Greater Hartford to achieve stability, healing, and long-term independence.
“We are deeply grateful to The Bushnell and the Max Cares Foundation for making this special opportunity possible,” said Annette Scheidecker, Director of Development & Communications for Community Housing Advocates, the parent organization of My Sisters' Place. “It’s a meaningful way for theatergoers to honor someone they love while also helping neighbors in our community find safe housing and hope.”
Performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will run April 7–12 at The Bushnell. Tickets are available at Bushnell.org.
