Leadership Greater Hartford Announces First 2026 “Leaders in Focus” Event Featuring Playwright Jacques Lamarre

Hartford, CT – Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH) invites the community to the first event in its 2026 Leaders in Focus series, featuring acclaimed Connecticut playwright Jacques Lamarre, writer of the new world premiere production Circus Fire, produced by TheaterWorks Hartford.

The event will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the historic First Company Governor’s Foot Guard in downtown Hartford.

During this special conversation, Jacques Lamarre will share insights into his creative journey, the inspiration behind Circus Fire, and the role storytelling and the arts play in shaping community and culture. The discussion will provide attendees with a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on the creative process and the importance of the arts in strengthening vibrant communities. Following the conversation, attendees will have the option to attend the evening performance of Circus Fire, offering a unique opportunity to experience the work discussed during the program.

Leaders in Focus is designed to bring together community members, professionals, and emerging leaders for engaging conversations with individuals shaping Connecticut’s civic, cultural, and business landscape. The event featuring Jacques Lamarre offers attendees the chance to connect with fellow leaders, engage with Hartford’s thriving arts community, and hear directly from one of Connecticut’s most accomplished playwrights.
