Liberty Bank Visits Middletown Students Through Junior Achievement Partnership

On April 22, more than 40 Liberty Bank teammates volunteered at Spencer Elementary School in Middletown through a partnership with Junior Achievement of Southwest New England.

The volunteers spoke with students in kindergarten through grade five, addressing topics such as financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship, and they led interactive activities.

The volunteer effort took place during National Volunteer Week, and this is the third year that the bank has partnered with Junior Achievement in this way.

“The partnership between Junior Achievement of Southwest New England and Liberty Bank reflects a shared commitment to strengthening communities through education and opportunity,” said Junior Achievement of Southwest New England. “By engaging Liberty Bank teammates as volunteers and thought partners, students gain real-world insights into financial literacy, career pathways and responsible decision-making. This collaboration not only enhances classroom learning, but also helps build a more financially capable and future-ready generation, demonstrating how strong corporate partnerships can directly impact economic mobility across Connecticut.”

Liberty’s partnership with Junior Achievement is just one example of the many ways Liberty teammates give back to their community throughout the year. In 2025, Team Liberty logged 16,500 volunteer hours with a total of more than 600 organizations. This is in addition to the $4,040,080 in charitable and corporate giving invested in local communities by Liberty Bank and the Liberty Bank Foundation.

Liberty Bank recognizes the importance of volunteering. Its brand promise is “Be Community Kind,” and the bank takes that promise seriously.

“It’s not just words,” said President and CEO David W. Glidden. “We walk the walk. We care deeply about our community and want to help whenever we can.”
