Mandell JCC to Host Brain Health Symposium in Collaboration with Oxford University, Featuring World-Renowned Neurologists
WEST HARTFORD, Conn., April 20, 2026 — The Mandell Jewish Community Center (JCC) will host the Brain Health Symposium: Stronger Minds, Better Lives on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Mandell JCC. Developed in collaboration with University of Oxford, the event will bring internationally recognized physician-scientists to Connecticut to share the latest research on reducing the risk of cognitive decline and optimizing brain health across the lifespan.
The symposium is open to the public and designed for adults seeking practical, evidence-based strategies to support long-term cognitive wellness. Registration is $36 per person. Space is limited.
The program will feature keynote presentations from leading experts in neurodegenerative disease research, including Gabriele DeLuca, MD, PhD, Professor of Clinical Neurology and Experimental Neuropathology at the University of Oxford, and Lee Goldstein, MD, PhD, a physician-scientist at Boston University specializing in traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative disease.
“Brain health is not something that happens to us—it is something we actively shape through the choices we make every day,” said David Jacobs, President & CEO of the Mandell JCC. “We are proud to bring this level of expertise to our community.”
Following the keynote presentations, attendees will participate in three interactive workshops led by clinical experts, focusing on key pillars of brain health including movement, nutrition, sleep, emotional wellness, social connection, and sensory engagement.
