University of Saint Joseph Welcomes New Trustee, Elects Board Leadership

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) has welcomed Christopher C. Healy to its Board of Trustees and announced new officers to lead the Board.

Beginning his three-year term on the Board, Healy brings extensive experience in public affairs, communications, and government service. Executive director of the Connecticut Catholic Conference since 2018, Healy's career includes serving as communications director for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, special assistant for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and communications and policy coordinator for the Connecticut Senate Republican caucus. He was active in elective politics at the local, state, and federal levels, including serving as chair of the Connecticut Republican Party from 2007 to 2011. A native of New York City, Healy graduated from The Gunnery School in Washington, Connecticut, and earned a liberal arts degree from Denison University.

USJ also announced new Board of Trustees leadership appointments. John F. Rodis, M.D., who previously served as vice chair, will now be the chair. Rodis succeeds Robert Stingle, who served as chair of the Board from 2023-2026. Kathy de Castro has been elected vice chair, and Carol Stiff will serve as secretary. Each officer will serve a three-year term in their new leadership position.

Together, the University’s new Board leadership and the addition of Healy reflect USJ’s continued commitment to strong governance and strategic leadership as the University builds on its momentum and advances its goal of educating students to do well and empowering them to do good.
